The trend of reviving famous plaques goes on and Tata appears determined to bring new life to that Sierra brand. In its initial form, but with styling updates that appear to make it more like an actual production model the Sierra was among the most exciting unexpected surprises in the auto show of Auto Expo 2023.
Looks like a grown-up
When Tata presented its Sierra Concept at Auto Expo 2020 The concept was notable for its voluminous front fascia, the thick the cladding around, and its LED lights that reflected light. In 2023, the version that was introduced to the Sierra concept immediately appears more sophisticated, thanks to its balanced style, and the front fascia is able to fill out the width of the SUV. The front bumper’s new design is more integrated with the headlamps, along with the LED DRL. It appears as if it’s a single unit that spans the length of the bonnet line and extending towards the side.
The Sierra retains the illusion of floating roofline, as well as the rear window extends to the rear windscreen due to the black paint finish for the B, A and C-pillars. Tata’s concept for 2020 had sliding doors that could be used for the rear section, however the 2023 version has more functionality. When the doors are closed both Sierra Concepts are nearly identical, and have similar designs of the side panels as well as the wheels.
In the rear, too The 2023 Sierra Concept seems more mature but not less impressive thanks to its streamlined front fascia. The extra dimensions are no longer confined on the wheel arches, because the body’s width is widened beyond the shoulder line. The light strip that runs behind is a distinct form over the back of the Tailgate. The roof-integrated spoiler adds an air of sportiness to the rear of the brand new Sierra Concept. In addition, the new rear bumper gives it elegant appearance.
In the cabin, 2023’s Sierra Concept has also been upgraded to make it more like an actual production version. The cabin appears to be spacious with the huge glass surfaces and the panoramic sunroof. It features a dual-tone white and grey interior , with the dashboard lacking large control panels. The design does feature large screens above the dashboard with an unassuming surround to display the infotainment and the gauge cluster with digital display. The seat backs appear intriguing and futuristic but the seats themselves are like they could be used in a production car.
The details of the powertrain remain an unanswered question
Tata could have pleased many enthusiasts by announcing they’re planning to launch the Harrier Electric will come with an all-wheel drivetrain, however there was no confirmation of this in the Sierra Concept. We are sure that it will come with an electric motor attached to the ALFA-Arc foundations however, there’s no information on the dimensions of the battery or the motor that is attached to it. The automaker has confirmed that the Sierra EV will offer a claim of 400km of range.
Sierra EV Launch
The Sierra’s design changed between two years at the Auto Expo, we hope to see a production version by 2025. It is likely to be located just below the Harrier EV and cost approximately 20 lakhs as a luxury electric SUV.
