The Royal Mail staff and postmen’s strike over pay has caused disruptions all across the United Kingdom and the protests are far from being over.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) informed that 115,000 of its members will walk out on September 8th, Thursday following the last week of the strike. The customers were warned of the disruptions to firms and deliveries due to the ongoing protest.

In its Twitter account to announce the news, the CWU posted: “Following the very sad news of the passing of the Queen and out of respect for her service to the country and her family, the union has decided to call off tomorrow’s planned strike action.”
It is expected that CWU members will be on strike at the earliest on September 30, Friday and on the first Saturday of October 2022.
The postal service company has warned that even though they’re trying their best to keep the businesses functioning, the strike will however cause major disruption.

The CWU has stated the fact that its employees enjoy a “dramatic” low cost in essentials of life due to the soaring inflation rate in the UK.
As ITV reports, the union’s principal Secretary, Dave Ward, has been well-known as a unionist who is unwavering in their commitment to securing the “dignified, proper pay rise they deserve.”
“We can’t keep on living in a country where bosses rake in billions in profit while their employees are forced to use food banks,” the man said.
CWU insists that its members also deserve a raise due to the “fantastic achievements” in defending companies throughout the epidemic.

According to its site, Royal Mail notes that Royal Mail will carry out as many special Deliveries and will ship as numerous Tracked24 parcels as possible.
The distribution of COVID test kits, as well as medical prescriptions, will be given priority ‘wherever it is possible.’
